Meet The Balcony, our Outer Banks beach home located in the heart of Corolla, in the Ocean Sands community, only 3 houses back from oceanfront, with unobstructed ocean views, and situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. This upscale and fully renovated beautifully decorated 5-bedroom, 3-bath home sleeps 12 people and is perfect for relaxing with family and friends, inside or out. And if you like to vacation with another family, you will love the unique layout of our family suites, one on each level. This spectacular property includes an in-ground private heated pool, hot tub, outdoor TV, luxury outside spa shower, and you are only steps away from private community beach access. All this, plus, local shopping and restaurants within walking distance. And if you are looking to stay active while on vacation, community tennis & pickleball is just a block away and there are miles of adjacent trails for walking, running, and biking.
The Balcony also provides the ideal setting to watch breathtaking sunrises and stunning sunsets from our 2 wrap around decks, built entirely with composite materials, that offer privacy from the nature preserve directly behind the home and unobstructed ocean views from the side. While lounging in our cushioned patio furniture or in one of our hammock chairs you can enjoy sighting nearby wildlife including beautiful birds, curious bunnies, and roaming deer! When you head to the beach, the undeveloped preserve to the north plus a large beach front means you will have plenty of room to spread out, play games, and enjoy the ocean without worrying about crowds!
We have carefully decorated our home to reflect our style and to bring our guests comfortable and beautiful spaces. Our newly updated interior includes a spacious great room, complete with a large, comfy sectional where you can cuddle up with a book, watch the flat screen TV, or just take in the stunning ocean views. When it is mealtime, you will find our newly renovated gourmet kitchen has been well-stocked and boasts white shaker cabinets, island with bar seating, quartz counters and high-end stainless-steel appliances to make cooking easy and enjoyable. It’s important to us that family and friends can share meals together, so we have a modern farmhouse dining set, breakfast bar seating, and a high top bar table to make it possible to seat everyone together for a meal. If you prefer to dine al fresco, just step outside onto our upper deck where we have a picnic table plus 2 high top tables and chairs providing plenty of room for everyone to eat together. When it’s time to chillax, we invite you to head down to our lower-level TV/game room and grab a drink from the bar, play a game or two on the table-top video arcade, or put your feet up and settle into the custom sectional couch to watch a movie on the large flat screen smart TV. Or you might just want to head outside, turn on the outdoor TV to enjoy a movie or sporting event while taking a late-night dip in the heated pool or relaxing soak in the hot tub!
The Balcony is not just another cookie-cutter beach house rental, this is our 2nd home that we love. Please note, we book direct - we don’t use any booking sites with fees! Our rental cost includes upgraded linens, towels, and cleaning, plus you get to enjoy the experience of visiting our home that we love, rather than just renting another cookie-cutter vacation property! We have tried to think of all the details and include all the "things" to help you have the best vacation, we include beach bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, family board games, high-speed internet, 8 flat screen smart TV's all with HULU Live, and even a margarita machine. The Balcony offers all the comforts of home in a gorgeous location, just steps from the beach with ocean views, so it’s the perfect place to visit any time of the year!

The Balcony History

For those who don't know us, we are the Jones Family - Ben, Jennifer, Evan, Nate and Jason. In our family, we believe that names should mean something ... we chose the names of our 3 boys all for very specific reasons. So when we purchased our beach home in September 2020, we knew we wanted to find a name that meant something to our family.
If you haven't already guessed where the name came from, you might bet that we chose it because our beach home boasts 2 wrap around balconies where we enjoy breathtaking ocean sunrises and savor stunning sunsets. Well that is part of the reason! But the other reason is that Ben and Jennifer graduated from Virginia Tech, and The Balcony was a favorite venue during their years in college. This restaurant/bar, originally called Top of the Stairs (TOTS) had a period between the late 80's to mid 90's where it was called The Balcony. The venue is still alive and well in Blacksburg, but has returned to the TOTS name. Our oldest two sons are also Hokies, so we felt that this name with its ties to Blacksburg, VA was the perfect name for our beach home! |
